yesterday I noticed that it felt like I had something between my toes and thought it might have just been a loose thread on my sock. This morning I realized the feeling was still there so I checked…Continue

Lauren replied to kphil06's discussion 'Baby is here!' in the group Oh! BABY!!!My name is Katie, I'm 27 and have been living with diabetes since June 2002, when I was diagnosed at the age of 17. For the first few years after diagnosis, I did the best I could with what little info I had to manage such a chronic illness. College got the best of me and I wound up in ICU with DKA 4 times! Now, I am calming down a bit and want to live a long and happy life, so I've worked really hard to get a pump and stay on track. I just had my lowest A1C ever with a 5.7%. I am very grateful to the DOC and tudiabetes for being there to give me a place to share, vent, and feel that I am not alone in this fight.I just recently quit my job to go back to school for nursing. I hope to one day be a certified diabetes educator to help empower the lives of other patients living with diabetes.Other than that diabetes stuff, I enjoy working out, reading, cooking/baking, and spending time outside with friends. I also enjoy traveling, but that's on hold for a while until I graduate! Also, I am expecting my first child February 2013 and we are so excited!
