Hi, Pat!

A1C is an indirect measure of the average of your blood glucose in the course of the past three months. Here's some more information about it:

It is very likely that any past bloodwork that you have had done will include it somewhere, either as A1C or has HbA1c. Levels under 7, depending on who you ask, tend to be looked upon by endos as good, but the close to 6 you are, the best.

If you haven't had an A1C test done with your bloodwork, you should ask your endocrinologist to make sure to have it prescribed... and, if I were you, I'd look for another endo. ;)
