Hi Latvianchick: I've been thinking about your discussion on the UK group. There is a group on here called "Geeks with Diabetes". They seem to love a tech challenge. I wonder if you posted your incompatability problem there if they could figure out a way that you could somehow get a free download or upgrade so you could get your computer to read the meter. Hope you are well. Joanne

I took my family to the First Southern Baptist church while we were on vacation in Las Vegas. We also passed out a bunch of gospel tracts to people while we were there. It was a family-oriented trip, so we avoided the sinful strip shows and most of the other spiritually bad influences there.

Shall I assume that you're originally from Latvia? When did you move to the UK?

Winter's frost and snow has come and gone
And Spring peeps its head out around the bend
Oh how thankful that the winter
Has finally come to an end

Soon baby birds wll be chirping and hatching
To greet a brand new world
Mama bird has sheltered them snug in their nest
Has watched over her babies and kept them warm

Safe from any predators that can cause them harm
She's gone now to find the fattest of worms
For her babies deserve only the best

Just look at the fields turning from winter brown to green
Isn't that just the prettiest sight you've ever seen?
See the wild flowers, with all the bright hues
Our Father created them especially for me and you

Ah, Spring... just smell the fragrant air
Look all around you, you can see God everywhere
Happy Spring to all my friends
This is where my little poem comes to its end.

God Bless All of You!

HI -- Saw your post about your depression and thought it was easier to respond here than on the wall. First, the drug she gave you is the generic for Zoloft. That takes a while to take effect and for a lot of people, they need to get up to 100mg before it really starts to have a result. But it is a good drug. It's just not at all immediate. I don't like that your doctor is so difficult to see. Is there anyone else? Clearly your doctor is not responsive enough for your needs and you need attention now. I've been where you are and I absolutely understand how terrible of a place it can be. Have faith that the Zoloft will ultimately take hold so you are on your way. Also be kind to yourself. I think sometimes the panic of depression setting in can just make the whole thing all the worse. But you're on track -- you're seeking help. You have medication started (I don't know about it giving stomach ailments -- can the pharmacist offer any info on that). Zoloft is an SSRI. If it causes stomach problems there are lots of other SSRIs your doctor could prescribe instead. Call her. Just know that this is not a forever place you are in. There is a way out. Breathe and be gentle with yourself.
