Hi Ellen-I just wanted to say Hi to you. I haven't been on the site much in the past few days. I am not happy about the new format that is starting next Monday. I just heard from my neuro about the new drug I told you about. He is ordering it for me. I certainly hope it helps. My walking is bad. How are you ? How are the furry ones? My daughter and g-son are arriving today for a visit. I am anxious to see them. I don't think we will be able to communicate on TuD after
Monday, I will send you my email address.
Take care, Susan

Hi Ellen-Thanks for your uplifting message. I do try to make it thru each day. One day at a time. I do not sleep well and spend the next day in a fog. My BS are becoming weird. If I go to sleep with a corrected high # I can drop to 50 by morning. I even called an endo. I am on his waiting list. I haven't seen one in many years. I basically have been doing all my insulin calculations myself. I hope you are improving each day. How are the furry ones ? Jim has been cat sitting for a resident here who us in Fl. The cat "Lucy" is a tuxedo like my Zorro, very friendly. I have seen her a couple of times. Her "Mommy" will be back next week. Hopefully, Spring will really arrive soon. It is still quite chilly. Take care of yourself. I think about you frequently. Susan

Why I am Glad I Have Diabetes. Really!

Posted on February 11, 2015 at 6:00am 2 Comments

I have several chronic conditions, autoimmune problems, and organs that are messed up and make me miserable. Still there is no disease that is as humbling as diabetes. It demands respect. In its "bag of tricks" it has the ability to torture you in small ways if you do not cooperate with it. It carries a big gun and you know it will use it if it has to.

It will cut you a break if you listen to it, do its bidding.

I have almost died several time, been on the brink of insanity due…

I am not the only one that does it, does unhealthy things when I am nervous and anxious.? No. I ate lunch yesterday with a friend who is a Type 2. Although he as lost over a hundred pounds, he had a huge hot dog smothered in onions, cheese fries and a diet coke for lunch. This was while he was explaining to me that he feel so bad he went to the ER last night. I can guarentee he will feel worse once this meal hits. He is a culinary artist and knows a lot about diabetes. The last time he was…
