We Don't Treat That

I went to the doctor today and after a two hour appointment I was told that I was not going to be given a prescription for Insulin. Yikes. It was because I was Type 1. "We don't treat that. You need…Continue

ellen, thanks for the comment on my picture, I think I'll be using that oen when we go to the new platform. I've lost the one w the quilt in the bg. I've been lookig into the new platform and it has some really cool features. we'll get lots of practice soon. Manny is going to create what they call a "sandbox" for us to safely try the new platform. anyway, it's fun to learn new things and expand.

Yes it is official I can go to the senior center now! I guess things are going fine, my diabetes is well controlled. But of course as we get older everything seems to just break, so I've recently been struggling some issues including my back and I've been going to some really sadistic physical therapists.

Hi Ellen-I am trying to stay positive about my health problems. I will be starting a new med by April. It has just been approved by the FDA. I saw it the Internet and asked my neuro about it. He said it should work for me. You certainly stay busy. How are the furballs doing ? We are expecting more snow by Sunday night. The last snow never really arrived here. We were lucky. It is quite cold, though. I am tired of the Winter already. Have a great weekend. Susan

Great quote above.
Just stopped by to wish you a good weekend. Are you a SuperBowl fan? I am not.
I asked for all my records from Melrose and they will not release them. Regular medical records must be released, but mental health not, unless the therapist signs off. I thought seeing things from their viewpoint would lessen my anger, and now it's made me even more mad.

Hi Lots,

How long do you know TuDiabetes? I see that you used to welcome people like I do now. I really enjoy it and to see what some people put on about themselves. The other day there was a new member that was Ms Jamaica United Nations - she was chosen for her advocacy of diabetes, notably for children. I like too the personal part of the site. It's going to change, we shall see what happens but for the moment, I don't like the conflict that is on because of the changes. I have a friend that told me that I flew out the kitchen door when there was a conflict and that's about true, I guess.
I enjoy the words of wisdom you put on your site from time to time. Are you in the blizzard? It looks tremendous! It's cold here with a little snow and ice on the ground, I took my dog for a walk but was happy to get back near the fire! Thanks for those beautiful yellow flowers. Have a nice day. Mari

Choices

I am not the only one that does it, does unhealthy things when I am nervous and anxious.? No. I ate lunch yesterday with a friend who is a Type 2. Although he as lost over a hundred pounds, he had a huge hot dog smothered in onions, cheese fries and a diet coke for lunch. This was while he was explaining to me that he feel so bad he went to the ER last night. I can guarentee he will feel worse once this meal hits. He is a culinary artist and knows a lot about diabetes. The last time he was…

The Sermon

Posted on July 22, 2014 at 1:28pm 3 Comments

Once a Zen master just set down to pronounce a sermon, when outside a bird started to sing. The master did not say a word and everybody listened to it.
When the bird stopped singing the master simply announced that the sermon was over, and he moved away.
-The Spirit of Zen, Lo Zen, by W. Watts

True creativity and alertness only arise when emptiness has seized the mind.
I am halfway there.
My mind is empty.
