I went to the doctor today and after a two hour appointment I was told that I was not going to be given a prescription for Insulin. Yikes. It was because I was Type 1. "We don't treat that. You need…Continue

Hi Ellen-It is really cold today, currently 15 and it is dropping to 2 tonight. How are you feeling ? I am about the same. Still not sleeping well and tired all day. I see my Neuro on Tuesday, we will discuss a new med that just came out. I hope it will help me. How do you make out walking Ammi in this cold weather ? That is when cats have an advantage, no need to be walked. I hear that Cathy is moving this summer to NC. She seems excited about it. I told her to start cleaning out and getting rid of excess stuff. I plan to stay in all day and keep warm. Hope you have a good week. Susan

Hi! I was waiting to answer you to put my dog's picture on but I still haven't been able to. Oh well, I have a great dog that loves to take me for walks! She is part Labrador (her appetite) and a little border collie... She's very nice and when we have kids over who are afraid of dogs, she wins over their hearts. She is quite chubby and has been on endless diets! She knows how to shake the plum tree so the plums will fall down and she can gobble them up and also eat loads of raspberries on the bushes I have! The vet says that that isn't making her fat but....I don't really believe him! I've decided to just let her be. She's very energetic and runs around a lot so....

Rain today! Have a nice weekend!

Hi Lots. Love the quote up above.
Very cold here - supposed to have -35 windchill tonight and tomorrow. What do I like less - snow or cold? I think snow.
I did not go out for two days due to weather, and on the first day cleaned for 3 hours and got a ton of stuff done. But, on the second day I had lost interest and just sat around.
I would like to get the Netflix streaming. Lately they keep saying they are not getting the discs back that I returned by mail. If it continues, they will close my account (????)
BG have been pretty good. My nephrologist suggested I cut back on salt and I peed off nearly 10 pounds.
Yesterday at Target there was a line of last-minute Louie's trying to look at Valentines. Sheesh - get a grip.
My sister's pug, Simon, is quite overweight. That's cuz my brother in law slips him treats under the table. And when was growing up we had a Siamese that weighed 24 pounds! It didn't seem to bother him, because he lived to be 19 years old.
Well, my dear. Happy Valentines Day. Do something nice for yourself.

Why I am Glad I Have Diabetes. Really!

I have several chronic conditions, autoimmune problems, and organs that are messed up and make me miserable. Still there is no disease that is as humbling as diabetes. It demands respect. In its "bag of tricks" it has the ability to torture you in small ways if you do not cooperate with it. It carries a big gun and you know it will use it if it has to. It will cut you a break if you listen to it, do its bidding.I have almost died several time, been on the brink of insanity due to pain, and I…See More

I am not the only one that does it, does unhealthy things when I am nervous and anxious.? No. I ate lunch yesterday with a friend who is a Type 2. Although he as lost over a hundred pounds, he had a huge hot dog smothered in onions, cheese fries and a diet coke for lunch. This was while he was explaining to me that he feel so bad he went to the ER last night. I can guarentee he will feel worse once this meal hits. He is a culinary artist and knows a lot about diabetes. The last time he was…
