- Manish, I just read your April posting about approaching women about your diabetes. During my first marriage I became D t1. After divorcing, I had the same anxiety. On first dates I told my date during conversation about my D. It is very difficult to take that step but it is really worth being honest and conveying confidence that you are on top of your health. Not all women will understand; there are many, though, that love men who are comfortable sharing with them. I found a wonderful women who took the time to understand. That was fifteen years ago. You will find that person (if you haven't already!)good luck! Virgil

Hi Manish....I know that you don't celebrate Thanksgiving in India...however I wanted to nonetheless send you festive good wishes, since truly, we should be thankful each and every day, right?...in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving Day the second Monday of October. So, tomorrow, Oct. the 12th, and usually, we eat turkey (among many other things)! Take care my friend....linda.

I had diabetes for about 20 years when I met my husband. I was working for the Defense Department, and my secretary lived next door to him, and set us up on a blind date. He is a sales and marketing executive with a food company. We've been married 23 years.
