UK and Aus have reciprocal heath care agreement in place, meaning you can be covered for most treatments you may require while you are here as if you were an australian citizen. I'll send to your email some files outlining cost of insulin, what you can expect to pay for consumables (some are free) and what you will be covered for if you need treatment. I hope that helps! If you need anything else, just let me know. Hope you are well.
I just saw the discussion that you started about the cost of insulin in Asia. I just wanted to recommend that you also check whether insulin can be bought without a prescription. When I first moved to Hungary, insulin was FREE, but only for people in the national insurance program. So you should check out the requirements to get insulin in the countries where you go.
Have a great trip!!
I would recommend you join these groups:

and post your question about cost of insulin in Asian countries there.
I wish I could help more.
