Hey, sorry to take so long to get back to you but I have been on vacation and staying away from my computer mostly, only just saw the questions you had! So here's the deal:

What I do with Eric is, I sew little pockets onto the back of his shirts (where he can't reach) and put a button hole in the shirt itself to put the clip through. A lot of places will sell shirts that have pockets but I do not like them because a) they're boring plain white t-shirts, b) they're expensive, and c) the companies that make them haven't done their research because they have a slit in the shirt big enough to fit the pump through, and what that means for a toddler is that when nap time rolls around, the pump often slides out of the pocket under the shirt and the child can get tangled in it. Scary if it goes around the kid's neck! So I make mine on my sewing machine and I make the slit just big enough to let the clip at the end of the tubing pass through.
what about sleeping with it without wraping herself up in it?

We live on a farm and so far Eric hasn't managed to wreck his in a year of snow, ice, mud, and dust. Part of that, though, is it's well protected by the shirt pockets. And I take it off him and put a clip into the site if he goes in water.

I will tell you this, things for a toddler are very different than for an older kid, which inspired me to write a book that should be coming out next year - 100 Q&A about your child's Type 1 diabetes is the title, and if I can get the publisher of his tuchus to get things sorted out with the medical coauthor, maybe it will be out by year's end.
