Congratulations!!! I was at 6.9% at conception and am now at 6.5% in Feb 2011. I'm 6 months along at this point. Doing another A1c next month and am hoping for somewhere in the 5%. The key to a healthy pregnancy is to have the first 8 weeks at a stable BG. You want it to be lower- closer to 120, but the key is to have it stable, not swinging all over the place. The baby is developing her key organs right now, so swinging BG will inhibit her from doing so. I'm surprised your A1c is at 7.7% if your post prandials are at 160. Those BG numbers sound really good! But, anyway, I work with a high risk GYN b/c of Type 1 and he said any A1c under 8% at conception really lowers the risk of birth defects to that of a normal woman. So, try to relax and try not to stress too much. This is a HAPPY time. :) Congrats!!
