Blood Glucose Meter Recommendations????

My daughter and I are both Type 1 and ski quite a bit. We started using the Countour Next Link meter this summer. I love the meter but am questioning its accuracy. I've noticed some weird readings after testing multiple times consecutively (yes, I washed my hands). We are also having problems with cold. For example, the other day I was in my car (just got in and I live in WI so it was cold) and my BG reading was 40. My dexcom said 117 and I sure didn't feel 40. Went back inside and I was 107.
