Dr. Kevin Kaiserman is an exceptional ped endo and has three offices in the greater Los Angeles area, including Torrance. His phone number is 877-482-9800 and email is kaiserman@socaldiabetes.com.

Hi mom of type1, you were asking about a ped endo in your area. I'm not sure how close Torrance is to Tarzana but our ped endo is John Ching and he is absolutely awesome!!! He is in Tarzana most of the time but he comes to Bakersfield every other Monday. I highly recommend him. Let me know if you want any other details. Good Luck, Leah

Welcome - I am new to TuD too - but have been frequenting boards for a couple months now. I have a daughter who was dx in July. We are thinking about a pump for her. My DH is also T1.

It could be the end of the honeymoon, it could be a growth spurt/puberty/horomones(How old is he?), it could be that he is coming down with something or it could be because a crow flew in front of the moon? :) Unfortunately, that is just diabetes. You never REALLY know. I don't remember when my son came out of his honeymoon, that time is still pretty much a fog to me. But I do know when he has a growth spurt...his insulin usage will increase 150% almost overnight. All you can do is keep giving insulin to keep his numbers down and keep a watchful eye for lows. Of course, make sure to check with your endo until you are comfortable making insulin adjustments.

Welcome. This is a great place for information. When we have endo appt's I take my notebook with questions that I have. This includes downloads from his pump/meter, any Rx's that need to be refilled, I also keep a chart of his weight/height and his latest A1c. If you have questions about new insulins or pumps be sure to ask about those as well. That first year can be so over-whelming, I just found it easier to have a place (my notebook) where I could jot down questions, changes in ratios...stuff like that. Again welcome to TuDiabetes.

not sure if you got that last post. I hit a key and away it went. I just wanted to say that it is hard, and scary. Knowing that the daily and long term health of your child depends of what you do today and everyday. Just know that you are doing the best you can. You are not alone and yes we are all struggling everyday, just like you.
