I attended this event. It was absolutely wonderful seeing the joy that Elliott brought to these children!

Thanks for the welcome! I believe that most teachers are afraid of diabetics (lack of knowledge).

Welcome to this group!
I have a young daughter with diabetes and I really wish more teachers (and other school workers) would take interest in learning more about diabetes. I have wonderful people who help out my daughter in school, but their lack of knowledge sometimes gets in the way...
PS: we also do the walks and participated in Remember Me compaign in Colorado.

Thank you for the welcome. I am a teacher and I have diabetic children in my classroom and school. I am also an EMT so they look to me for assistance. One child has begun having seizures at school "due to a growth spurt." Pretty scary. I support Elliott Yamin, and The Promise to Remember Me Campaign. I have walked in two JDRF walks.

Welcome to the TuDiabetes family!!! Do people tell you that you remind of Elliott Yamin?

Anyway... Here are a few tips on how to make the most of the site. I invite you check out the different groups we have: there's an excellent chance you will find more than a few that you can identify with.

If you find the community useful, please:
-Link to us on your blog/site (if you have one).
-Invite family, friends, colleagues and anyone whom you feel may benefit from it.
-Consider making a donation by clicking on the "Donate" button on the right side of the page, to support the work we do.

Also, if you know of any local newspapers, TV or radio stations that you feel could be interested in writing about our community, please let them know about our recent Press Release, announcing the community: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2007/8/prweb546849.htm

Last, if you run into Spanish-only speaking folks, please let them know about EsTuDiabetes.com, our sister Spanish-speaking community.
