I'm glad it was all helpful! It's great that you're doing this kind of informal research for class, I'd be interested to hear how your classmates/profs responded to getting this kind of info from diabetes patients. I'm planning on doing a degree in public health so I'm very interested in these kinds of things, too. Let me know if we can be of any more assistance!

As an added come-on, take a look at what Dr. Bernstein has done for diabetes patients!

If you are interested in diabetes, maybe you'd be interested in Endocrinology as a specialty. I know of no other so diverse, puzzling, etc. Of course all my trying to get med students interested in Endocrinology won't make it so. It doesn't have piazz hanging out there like surgery! But for those interested in internal medicine, certainly Endo, tho terribly busy, has its rewards.

As a PWD, I would be FASCINATED to hear what med students learn about DM. I think that would give us all greater understanding and empathy for working together for better health outcomes and better health-care relationships! Great idea, Ryan. PS: Would also make a good story for my magazine.
