I'm new at this wonderful website and I just read your discussion about severe lows. I've type 1 since 1967 and I was teen. I never did severe lows. My lower "low" was on a beach, south of France, at 26. I ate sugars (3X 5g) and went to the flat to eat more. With Lantus and Apidra I'm often at 43,50... sometimes 39 in the day and I have lows in the night (3 o'clock) but I wake up. Hope you're well, Brigitte.
I was diagnosed 35 years ago in September, when I was 15. So we're closely matched there. How are the shots working out for you? Have you tried Symlin at all?
Wow, you're a veteran, just like me (33 yrs for me).
Here are a few tips on how to make the most of the site. I invite you check out the different groups we have: there's an excellent chance you will find more than a few that you can identify with.
If you find the community useful, I'd be honored if you could link to us on your blog/site if you have one or invite family, friends, colleagues and anyone whom you feel may benefit from it.
Also, if you know of any local newspapers that you feel could be interested in writing about our community, please let them know about our recent Press Release, announcing the community: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2007/8/prweb546849.htm
Last, if you run into Spanish-only speaking folks, please let them know about EsTuDiabetes.com, our sister Spanish-speaking community.
