Join our group on Facebook - Support Sam DiMarco's Walk for the Cure

We are hoping to have a HUGE delegation of walkers on Team DiMarco this year! The Welland Walk to Cure Diabetes is fairly young, this is the third year. Last year, our family and friends raised $650.00. Amazing!
This year, we are aiming for $1000.00.

It's a great walk for families, 5 KM is not that far! Bring a stroller for little ones and join us for a fun day!

If you can't join us, please consider sponsoring us personally or pledge Team DiMarco online at jdrf.ca/walk.… Continue

You are very welcome tracy. It is very obvious that you love your son and are very dedicated to taking good care of him. How have things been working out for the two of you? I hope some of the suggestions made on another post were of some help to you.. I also see on the side over here that there was an itch problem and maybe a staph infection.. How is that going? One of my daughters has a problem with staph that keeps coming up every now and then. Now she bathes regularly with a special soap called Cetaphyl. I buy it for her at Walmart. She uses the bath bars and also the Cetaphyl lotion. This cuts down on the amount of staph she normally carries on her body. It is very easy for her to scratch and open the skin up when she gets even a small rash. or is just itchy. So we use the Cetaphyl lotion which also helps keep the skin moisturised and cuts down on the itching and also on the amount of staph she carries. The Cetaphyl kills the staph. If you can find a bar it is well worth the $3. Some of us just carry more staph than others or we are more sensitive to it. Anyway this soap is easy to use, easy to get and really does a good job. I sure hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for your welcome. Aaron is 8, was diagnosed at 11 months, and has been pumping since he was 4. He is on the Minimed 522 pump. We tried to get the Omnipod last year, but were denied by insurance. We decided not to appeal, and got the 522 instead, with an eye on eventually getting a continous glucose moniter.

Hi Tracy, We were down in Niagara today and had a great meeting with the DEC in St Kitts about our Outreach Program. Not sure if you know much about it but I would love to have you involved. It is a program where we partner veteran families with the newly dianosed to offer support. Call me at the office if you are interested. Thanks!
