"My heart goes out to all of you. I have been a diabetic for a long time now. I did hear a story about this. But I did not know what it was called. Stay strong and as I do take it one day at a time. The payoff is so much better. My incentive was for…"
"Not sure where you are located. I am in New York. We have had hot summers too. But I believe the pump is able to handle what is in the machine and to keep it ad cool ad possible. One thing I do if I know I am going to be outside for a day or so and…"
"I had issues with my enlite sensor the first couple of weeks. Readings weren't accurate. Was so frustrated I asked if I could return it. Medtronic told me I wasn't calibrating enough. Was entering 2 calibrations per day at that point…"
"Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. Sorry you are having a rough time. My concerns are the lows at night. I have been suspending my basal for 1-2 hours at night and I have had better success. I use my temp rate. There are many times where I…"
"So an update.
SG readings were <40 all night again on this new sensor on day 2. Called up the rep. She tells me that the sensor is losing contact with the interstitial fluid while sleeping most likely which is leading to false readings. I told…"
"The pump itself isn't bad. It didn't really change from its predecessor. The sensors, however, are drastically different.
Pros: The sensor itself is so much smaller
Insertion is a piece of cake now
Cons: They suck
Since I started using…"
"I really like the Enlite sensors. I do not like the serter. I find the sensor wire gets bent often and wastes the sensor. I figured out how to insert them manually.
I made a video how to do it. But I did not record the actual poke. I think I will…"
"I had the old Dexcom system. Never had any issues. Switched to the G4 and I am in the same boat as you I could not get through the 2 hour calibration time. And a failed sensor. Not sure why this particular batch is doing that. With that being said…"
"What is the low threshold allow you to set it to? I still have time on my machine. My niece just switched to it. I am not that thrilled with medtronics as a company. Very aggressive with giving product. I like the pump I am on now. I just wish the…"
"I have the Accu-Chek. I do like the pump. I did hear that the accu chek is now discontinuing their partnership with Dexcom. I would like an Intergrated CGM. The accu-Chek is very easy to use and the sensors are inserted so,so easy. No pain. I was…"
"Regarding the constant battery change. I finally had to receive a new system from Accu-chek. Changing the battery every couple of days to every week was making me crazy. So far since I have the new Accu-Chek I have not had to change the battery. I…"
"Had a question. I use the accu-chek spirit combo. What black key? I put the chip in the back. I buy in bulk so the code is the same in every box. Not sure if you guys are talking about something else. Trying to get over changing the battery every…"
"I have not had any changes with sugar levels. I use it all the time. Keep any eye on your levels for 24 hours when you eat something new. Just make sure you watch the amount of card you give in a pump. It may need to start on the lower end."
Hi, shari. I, too, love the Cozmo. I've been very happy with the Omnipod, but honestly, I think I would have been just as happy with the Animas. They're both wonderful pumps. I have had very few problems, good experience with their customer service, etc. I find I really like podding in certain spots of my body that I never used for infusion with tubing (like my back). The PDM is ultra-user friendly (like the Cozmo), too.
Since you're a Navigator user though, I strongly recommend the Omnipod. Not only do they take the same strips (regular Freestyle strips), but Navigator's planned updates over the next two years (and Omnipod's, too) hope to incorporate the two devices into a single receiver. If you had a Dexcom, I'd tell you that both Omnipod and Animas have planned updates to combine with the CGM, but Animas is Dex-only, whereas Omni is both.
