I gave up on my MM paradigm 515 pump three years in to my warranty. I got a call 4 years later, and I told the woman that they made some lemony pumps. I mean, I had 8 replacement pumps in three years, due to quality control issues. She said "Well,...

My First Hospital Bracelet-at age 5 with type 1 diabetes

My parents put the bracelet in my night stand drawer soon after my diagnosis, and has remained there all these years.

I'm amazed at how small I was. I now barely fit three of my fingers inside the bracelet. Wow.....I was ti

"Severe" Gastroparesis after EXACTLY 13 Years of Diabetes

That's right-Dec 4th 2007.........the day of my 13th D anniversary.....and my first complication

Pretty much, in my circumstance-my stomach doesn't digest food at all.

Usually, for most, it's delayed emptying. But, it was determined that in 90 minutes, my stomach only sends 1% of food to my small intestines. In the past year, I carefully dosed myself with insulin-but with fear. Food absorption obviously was and is completely unpredictable, so I've had scary hypos.

LIVING with Diabetes Contest Entry: Group 1

Camp Sweeney: a Life Changing Experience

On December 5, 1994, at the age of five, my life changed forever. I was diagnosed and hospitalized with type one diabetes, an autoimmune disorder affecting one in six hundred children in the United States. It is an illness where the body destroys the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, mistaking them for foreign bodies. Because of this, a pe

I am interested in hearing your veiws on the pump. I have been a diabetic for 27 years and have had a bit of a roller coaster year and am checking into the pump and if I have coverage. But mostly need to hear the horror stories as well as the successes about the pumps.... thanks mike

Hey Monica,
Just saw the info you posted about the broadcasts. Do you mind creating events for them here? When you are on the Events page, just click on the Add an Event link and it will take you to a page where you enter all the details. It's fairly straightforward, but DO let me know if you run into any issues: heads up, you need to add an image for every event.

Take care and THANKS so much for the information!

Thanks for the info on the video broadcasts. I do hope they also archive them (I'm sure they will).

My family book project is wrapping up so I've a list of blog posts to write. I'll be sure to include this in one of them.

You know what? You can form your own group in TuDiabetes: you could form a Camp Sweeney group and invite your friends from there to join. You can be the administrator of the group, etc.

BTW, Tim's song was very touching and he is a very good artist. You should invite him to join, if you are in touch with him.
