Hi shosshana27, You ask if I eat fish, well for the last 6 months trying alkaline food diet, and meats are created of amino acids, so it seems every-time I cheat it takes 2 or 3 days to get blood sugars lowered and back in order, but I found that my pancreas makes enzymes to digest foods so if I take pharmacy enzymes the blood sugars do not rise. Raw fruits and vegetables have enzymes in them and if not heated above 114 degrees do not put a load on the pancreas and break down on there own, or so I have read and seemed to experience. It is interesting time. At first I didn't think I could do it, but for better health & the love of my new wife anything is possible. :P

Sorry for getting on the soap box.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I have been quite a mess since my son was diagnosed and we were sent home from the hospital with ZERO aftercare or follow up information so I feel like I'm drowning in this some days. I also have a 1 year old baby that I worry will also have type 1 so that keeps me up at night as well. I love to hear that people have lived long healthy lives with this because that is all a mother ever wants fro her children!
