Best Wishes NOW....and for the rest of the year!
(You haven't been on in a while...I hope everything is OK)
Have a GREAT "ME" DAY :)

Click on the image for more details.I'm sending you this message because I see you listed as living in the East Bay. I'm planning on starting a weekly Diabetes Support Group which will be open to all Types, all ages. The purpose will be to create a safe place to share the feelings, thoughts, hopes and fears we all go through as well as share insight and strength for managing our diabetes. It will be in an informal setting and the fee nominal.
My qualifications for facilitating this group are that I am a retired Counselor with over 25 years experience doing groups. I just returned from living for two years in Guatemala and currently teach Psychology online for a Community College.
Perhaps even more important I was misdiagnosed as Type 2 diabetic two years ago; did fine on oral meds for awhile and then my numbers started to climb. After a lot of research and a lot of talking to others I realized I was LADA/1.5 and am now stable on a basal/bolus insulin regimen. Through this experience I went through the anxiety, fear and sense of being overwhelmed by diabetes. Today I live with this disease on a daily basis with both full recognition of how it affects everything in my life and a commitment to living a full rich life outside of Diabetes.
Please contact me here or at zoelula@hotmail.com if you are interested in participating in a support group.
You know, many people have also commented that diabetes has been their point of crystalization!
Take care Skeeto, and keep in touch....linda.

Dx with pre-diabetes in January....that's still very fresh! How's it all going? I'm dropping by to say...Best Wishes on your Special Day Skeeto!!I am also a member of this group and a Type 1 Diabetic. I thought you might be interested in meeting other Type 1s and wanted to let you know that I am the organizer of a meetup group called G.A.T.E.-Gastroparesis And Type1 Diabetes Exchange.
It is for Type 1s as well as for those with Gastroparesis. You can have either condition separately and don't need to have both to join. It is a support and activities group for people with similar conditions to interact, network, participate in discussions, ask questions, share experiences, or to vent frustrations. I will also have guest speakers periodically.
This is a new group that will meet in Union City one Sunday a month startin May 17. If you would like to learn more, please check us out
G.A.T.E. website:
http://www.meetup.com/Type1Diabetes-GP-SupportGroup/
I hope you will consider joining us for a future meeting.
Thanks,
Margaret
