Sohair:

So sorry I took so long to respond, but I just got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon. I was in for almost 7 days. It started out with an infected finger and a reaction to an antibiotic taken in the emergency room. They gave me THREE whole capsules on an empty stomach after 10 p.m. On top of it -- or should I say NOT on top of it -- they gave them to me without milk and food. (When I picked up my prescription for them the next day, the pharmacist said it had to be taken with milk AND food! To say the very least, I had an extremely awful chemical taste in the back of my throat and started coughing horribly. By Tuesday, when I went to see my hand surgeon and my primary care DR, I was wheezing and, after 4 breathing treatments, showing no improvement, I was sent to the ER by my primary. They admitted me because of the cough and a sign of fluid on the lung x-rays. I spent a miserable 6 days coughing my lungs inside out with no increase in ability to move the "stuff" from my lungs. There was also concern about the pain in the chest and they started looking at my heart. Oh well, they just ended up putting me on the nitroglycerine patch. So maybe I will just explode one day after too much!!! LOL

Well, must go. I want to tell you that I missed hearing from you, dear friend. So don't you dare disappear again! You hear me?!!! :o) Don't forget, despite all the troubles in the world, there are people who miss your input and your beautiful pictures of flowers.

Love,
Lois

sohair, congrats on the retirement. I'm sure you're keeping involved. we have a newly diagnosed type1 young person in his 20s here who lives near Cairo. he's still honeymooning, has been able to fast for Ramadan, we're keeping our "little brother" looked after. gosh, love seeing you around here! reminds me of the early days. hugs hugs hugs

Hello, Sohair, I just read that you have retired. I hope that you are taking time for your writing and photography, and just for yourself. Please stay safe, my friend.

So GOOD to hear that you are doing well. I didn't picture you as retiring; just young and hard-working as a doctor. I guess we all change as the years go by. I hope that you are able to do more of the things you love to do. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over. (Yeah, and I should be the one to talk about that!) With all the unrest in Egypt now, though, I can't blame you for your concern. I just pray that it all works out for the best. I'm not a politically savvy person and don't understand a lot of what goes on in the world.

I need to sign off for now as my wrist is hurting. I had a procedure today and the doctor went through the radial artery. OUCH in spades!!

Love,
Lois

I was so happy to hear from you again. You have always been a ray of sunshine. All is well here in the desert and I haven't passed out in months. I'm trying to lose weight which means dealing with nocturnal lows. That just means I can have a little candy and orange juice at 2am, then back to bed before work. Glad to hear retirement suits you. Yom Kippur is when I am supposed to fast, but the diabetes put an end to that. Glad as always to hear from you.

Hi Sohair,
It has been ages since I have written, or really been on the site. I recently started getting back on and have been posting film reviews on the dinner and a movie forum. I hope you are doing well. I have been fine. Last year was a bad health year and I was passing out a lot from what my Dr. referred to as vasavagul (if I am spelling it correctly.)
You were on my mind, so I felt the need to check in with you. Hope you are well.

Hello my sweet friend, Sohair. It is your long-lost friend/sister, Lois. I miss our communications and even the early morning phone calls. I am currently battling to keep my other foot from the surgeon's knife. Because of the Charcot foot, I am prone to pressure blisters on that foot.

If you would like my new telephone numbers, drop me a personal note. Hope all is well with you and your family.

hi Sohair, just checking in with you, hope you are well. I just had a visit with my mother, she lives 6 hours from me, she just turned 90, and is not doing well right now. I enjoyed seeing you post some pictures. Manny has been travelling like crazy lately. next Friday he will be on the live chat, it's probably not a good time for you, but it would be lovely to see you in the chat room.

Hello Sohair

I'm so glad to see that you're still here! How are you?

I'm back, after being told I'm diabetic again! My diagnosis is just as confusing as it was the first time around. I don't think I'm going to escape from diabetes, although my doctors are happy with my numbers.

Keep well my friend
Megan

"Stuff"!! How's the weather at your end...hot and muggy here...was going to weed after the brief rain shower we had here yesterday....but the air was very thick....and my back still recuperating from having washed the kitchen floor 3x over on all fours (the old fashion way) the day before, when our middle grandson Riley (2) decided to spit out his juice all over the place. I would have been arrested for what I toyed doing to him! The room that our daughter was in before moving into her own place is now taken up as a storage room for Timothy and Steph (son and d-i-l). (Our son and daughter and theirs were here since mid January since the house they shared burned to the ground. No one was hurt, except for 3 pets that perished. Our daughter has moved into a new apartment, and our son has purchased a house and they are moving out of our place mid July!) The storage unit they have rented is all full!!! They're moving into their own house starting the 19th of this month! The repeat empty nest syndrome lol. It sure will feel odd to have the whole house to ourselves again! Steph (d-i-l) has a bad ear/sinus infection. She went to a walk in clinic yesterday, and was put on meds, including ear drops. Early evening, her ear was bleeding, which is not uncommon with ear infections...but I nevertheless offered to take her to ER, knowing that we'd be there for at least 6 hours...no no no...she didn't want to go. Midnight, as I'm coming out of the washroom to go to bed, she and Timothy are at the kitchen table...seems that now she feels she should take me up on that earlier offer. I said to her, "you realize that we'll be there all night 'till mid morning anyway!"
She had gone to the internet, and of course got frightened by the comments and suggested diagnoses of her bleeding ear! (sigh....who listens to me!!) So I said..."call telehealth" (a telephone access here, that helps to give you a heads up about your symptoms). They basically paraphrased my comment to her..."you have been seen, you DO have an ear infection which may bleed, you are on medication for it, you do NOT have cancer nor have you suffered trauma to the head. Call your doctor in the morning if it is still bleeding" Who listens to me!!! So this morning, she called her doctor who will see her at....3pm, and the appointment was later changed to 7pm! Guess the doc doesn't share her concern!!
So...life goes on in the Miller household! Sounds SO much like a soap that I should ask you to stay tuned tomorrow...same time same station! How's life at YOUR end??
hugs and best wishes....linda

It's a stress reduced weekend. Big celebration at church tomorrow! Son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren away till tomorrow (Easter) after dinner....and daughter will be away tomorrow, while 3rd grandchild/son is visiting with his dad for Easter day. There will be left overs available for them to have tomorrow evening from my end....but the stress of prepping the meal will be absent! Will be having turkey and the works....plus a dessert of sorts. The grandchildren are getting books from us as an Easter gift!
Today...it's left over fish from yesterday!
Luv....linda
