I have many different health issues both offically diagnosed and undiagnosed Im trying to sort out. Some of these health issues are polycystic ovulation syndrome which has given me insulin resistance. Thou the PCOS got diagnosed years ago in my case, my insulin resistance has only recently been diagnosed (with blood tests). In the past and maybe still at times, I had quite bad hypoglycemia with blood tests coming back very low. My specialist has told me that I certainly will end up diabetic.Ive had to go on a very strict almost no carb diet as I get some symptoms with my insulin resistance and they make another issue I have worst. (I also have chronic fatigue immunity dysfunction syndrome.. and when i eat carbs I get more sore throats, struggling to get out of bed in the mornings and also get indigestion which I used to have to take pills for but dont since Im on a very low carb diet). Im so much better on this almost no carb diet. (I restrict cereals/breads/most breads/ fruit, most veg etc and of cause dont have sugar.. i also restrict dairy due to lactose/milk sugar). My worst issue with my insulin resistance is the severe mood swings I can get when I eat carbs. 55-60g carbs is enough to really flip me out to the point where I can break windows, it can almost send me crazy. (My specialist has explained to me how insulin is a toxin to my brain.... i guess i must be very sensitive to it, maybe due to that I also have MCS).Im hoping to find some with similar issues to carbs at this site as this issue is a nightmare!

Taniaaust1,
Thanks for reading the story about my sons "D" diagnosis. I think there are similar things about both our stories, in the end never doubt a mother's instinct! I have become much more assertive since that time and feel it is our job as mom's to make people hear us!
It's such a frustrating gig at time's , I am so sorry that you too had to convince doctors that you knew there was something that needed treatment. I understand where you are coming from ...regarding the not liking being touched or held down I understand how difficult that is too. We have my son's yearly blood work tom., usually it takes 4 people to hold him down and we all usually get hurt. This year we have been practicing a couple times a week, "pretend blood draws", granted it's not the same thing but I am hopeful the practice will allow him to tolerate the touch- and let's face it blood draws can hurt depending on who is doing them. Cross your finger's for us, I will do the same for you and your's.......best to you and the family...stay strong..courtney

Taniaaust1,
You have to get help somewhere. You sound a lot like I was for years, in and out of hospital. Maybe try to find a psychic who DXs you with bipolar or anything else. I went through 3 psychics before one DXed me correctly with bipolar. My life is chaotic to say the least but I have not attempted suicide for almost 10 years so I am grateful. Keep trying and look after yourself to the best of your ability.

I am always here so feel free to ask questions or just to talk any time you want. I know for sure what you are going through. I have been type 1 since1959 and bipolar since 1963.

Hi there, my sister has some of the same issues that you are facing, MCS, Chronic Fatigue and she also has been forced to restrict carbs in her diet. She is struggling. You have to be a strong person to be able to have the self control to deal with the issues that you have and I know it is rough, especially when you work hard at it and still feel so fatigued. We have people here that have dealt with PCOS also and if you post your issues on the Discussing Forum I am hoping you will get some of the feedback that you are looking for. We are here to support you in your journey. Wishing you a good weekend. Lots.
