lotsofshots said… Hi thomas. It is good to hear from you! I am glad you check your page here even if it is not very often. It sounds like it has been hard for you lately. My sister has fibromyalgia and I know just how painful it can be. She had to retire early and it really had an impact on her life. She has found that gentle daily exercsise, and a nutritious diet with lots of fresh vegetables and no processed food, low carb, helps. She tried Lyrica, and Cymbalta and the side effects just were not worth it. She became even more fatigued. Tramadol helps me, I have myalgia, which is muscle and bone pain without the trigger points, and that works well, but is hard on the liver. I just use it when my body hurts bad.
I can't believe it is the New Year already! I bet you are worried about financial stuff, especially with our economy and all the fiscal cliff problems, Things are hard as far as money goes. I hope your sweetie gets her disability claim. If she gets denied, make sure that she appeals, it usually works the second or third time.
How is Jasper? I have some bad news, my sweet Suri died. She had a tumor in her nasal cavity and was having a hard time breathing. It was very sad to put her down. I was having health problems at the time and it was really hard to lose her. I am feeling better now though, finally. I had to take off work for a few months, but I am finally back again.
Now I have a new cat. Her name is Zen, and it took me a while to get used to a cat, because I have always had dogs, but she is turning out to be great, and I am enjoying her very much. She is black, has green eyes, and had a little bit of white on her chest.
I feel pretty happy that we didn't all bite the dust on December 21st! I heard on the news that in Mexico they turned the Mayan ruins into a theme park and made millions with all the visitors on that day!
I do kind of feel a "shift" is happening. Time seems to have sped up, and it seems like here in the US that people are starting to wake up. I think that there will be a lot of changes for the better in the years to come, less materialism and more acceptance and coming together is my hope.
So how are things on the island? I bet it is cold and snowy where you are. We have had some terrible storms on the east coast but they always miss me because I am between the mountains and the coast and far enough in from the water and far enough south to miss all the action.
For Christmas we had just a little snow in the air, but mostly rain. I have the weekend off and Monday and Tuesday too. I am going to see Les Miserables tomorrow morning with a friend and then to lunch. I think 2013 will be a very interesting and memorable year.
I hope you and your loved one start feeling better and that things go well for you in the future. AreI hope you are still enjoying your walks on the beach? It was really nice to hear from you. Lots.

lotsofshots said… Hi thomas, I have a son, Jesse but all grown up, he is 20 now. I was diabetic when I had him but just a newbie so I felt pretty good raising him. I feel so bad for the families with kids with diabetes too. I guess they adapt to it because they love them so much, love with get you a long way, and resilience. I know that must be very hard on everyone though, a lot of stress. I am glad that you had a nice trip to your dad's . I am meeting a lot of guys who like to cook. I am lucky too because my partner is the cook around here. I don't go in the kitchen much, so he rules in there. It is so nice that you are happy and content with a loving wife. Sometimes seems rare today to find that. We are having cool weather now, quite a quick change, it seemed to turn to fall overnight. I am about ready to look for the first frost. Take care thomas, I am always happy to hear from you and your interesting tales of life on the island, pet Jasper for me. Suri is doing well, up to her usual shenanigans. Lots.
lotsofshots said… Oops, I guess I am pushing buttons to fast too. I sent before I was finished. Just wanted to wish you the best and say thanks for keeping in touch it is fun having a friend on the other side of the US who tells me neat things about you lovely way of life and your beautiful island. For someone like me, living in the city, but a country person at heart it is really quite refreshing. Take good care of yourself. Peace to you also.
Lots
