The Emotional Impact of Diabetes

Unless someone is diabetic, or very close to someone who is, they do not realize how life changing this disease can be. I believe one of the reasons this is, is because so many people are diagnosed with diabetes; that somewhere down the line, the seriousness of the disease, in people’s minds, have diminished.

Diabetes is a very serious and scary chronic illness. It is totally life altering for those diagnosed. Eating becomes literally a matter of life and death. And the

Introducing myself

Wouldn't it be nice if the blog post you make under one of your groups on Ning, would automatically post on all the groups you belong to on Ning, if you wanted them to? Someone tell me there is a function for this lol.

I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Tracey. I'm a nurse, who can no longer work, due to a list of back, bone and nerve problems (and I'm not the diabetic one- lol) I am now a jewelry artisan. I run two stores on etsy: Tracey's Treasures and A Crafter's Reality- I

Do you have a child who has diabetes? Or maybe a relative/friend who has a diabetic child? Be sure to read my blog entry: The Emotional Impact of Diabetes
It's a writing on the different emotions my son and myself went through when he was diagnosed and shortly after.

HA! That's just too true! Tell you what I would like to see and I know it's been said a thousand times but I'm a little different on this.........I would LOVE to see these "strong" men give birth!! HA! The way I say I'm different on that though is I'd love to see them dealing with the morning sickness like I did with both of mine all the way through the pragnecey! I really think that would be funny!!! Last year my husband passed a kidney stone and they say that's as close to child brith a man can get. While he was in ER crying like a baby I would have to walk out of his room and laugh like crazy!! The nurse that was working his room looked at me during one of my laughing fits ans said you must have had a baby. I told her yeah I'd had 2 and she said so have I and stood outside of the room laughing with me! But of course we couldn't let him see us doing that but we did!!

Hi Tracey, welcome aboard!

Here are some tips on how to make the most of the site.

If you find the community useful, we'd be honored if you could link to us on your blog/site if you have one or invite family, friends, colleagues and anyone whom you feel may benefit from it.

And if you know of any other folks who only speak Spanish, please let them know about EsTuDiabetes.com our sister Spanish-speaking community.

You know your husband could be like mine if his little toe hurts he thinks he's dying!! HA! Men They are just sent here to drive us women crazy! Hate to admit it but they can do it! HA! But in all sencerity your husband needs to understand he has to take care of himself so your son can see him doing it and watch his kids grow up like his dad did.

Welcome to tudiabetes!!! Your son's A1C sounds like my last one it was 8.1! What I try to remember is that you can bring it down. Not the greatest advice I know but it does help to remember that.
