Here we Go!!

Well I went to Womens College Hospital in Toronto on June 1 and had my tubal reversal surgery. Some of you may remember, I was originally supposed to have my surgery back in March but was bumped two days prior to surgery..we were so upset and angry...anyways, I digress. ;)Surgery took about 2.5 hours and according to my surgeon, went very well. He flushed me with blue dye to check the tubes and they flowed great! (I was also peeing blue/green for a couple days after)He went in through my…See More

Well, as some of you know, I got married in September. We paid off the wedding and just had our honeymoon in the Mayan Riviera. Although it was our honeymoon, it was more like a group vacation since our 12 year old daughter (also type 1) came with us, as well as my maid of honour, her daughter, my other bridesmaid and my mum and step dad...yes, it was a party and a fantastic time. Pics to come soon.

I noticed that my sites were only lasting a day..they started peeling off. I used a…

Hello, Im a 40 year old who has had type 1 for 35 years. I have a 12 year old type 1 daughter who's had it for 10 years.

We both pump. She's on the Medtronic and I went with the Animas Ping. Im relatively new to pumping (since this past July) so far so good.

Just started the referral process to do IVF with my husband.

Your wedding photos are beautiful! I wanted to ask you about your daughter --- how has she been coping with things? Does she talk about having diabetes? My daughter has just been diagnosed with all these conditions in the past year. She's 15 & she's pretty quiet about it all. Doesn't want to test around friends or talk about it. Really has only had one melt-down. I think she may blow sometime!

Welcome to the family! On this forum you will learn so much. Most of all you will learn that you are not alone. Everyone here is supportive and will provide answers to your questions. Search the site for answers. Read the discussions and blogs for information. There are videos to help you understand diabetes and its treatment. Most of all there is family to talk to and even to vent to, if needed. Welcome home.

Welcome home trinsmum.....fellow Canadian!
This is a great place to share, to learn, and to grow...all the while meeting new people world wide, and making friends ♥
Take a peek at some the groups when you get a chance. Just go to the top of your page, and click on "Groups". Once in, you can either peruse the wide array of available groups....or simply type a specific interest in the space provided. Take in some of the blogs/discussions and take a look at the Canada Embassy page as well, by going to the headings in the aqua coloured box in the upper left hand of the home page. Click on "DHF Grassroots". Once you're in scroll down, click on "Canada embassy", and voilà! The house in the photo is where Dr. Frederick Banting lived and had his medical practice in London, Ontario, Canada...before going to the University of Toronto to work on diabetes research, and ultimately the discovery of Insulin.
