I'm sitting here, thinking. I am looking at the lab orders I have for tomorrow mornings fasting blood work. I am focusing on the letters A1c. It's the first lab order -- of course it's in alphabetical order. All I can think about is 'first is the worst'. Since the summer, I have had to devote more time to school and thus, less importance on the D. Is there anyone else out there nervous about their A1c? I think I have reached D burnout. 24 hours ago, I was pacing the floors in my house, concerned and anxious about what my a1c would be. Today, I found out. After much work, I was concerned that it was going to go up from my previous 7.8. That would not have been good. But, it went down, 7.2!!!! I am so happy. I worked so hard, I have been adjusting my diet and exercising and changing insulin rates and it all paid off. I am so proud of myself.
