Legislative (Lame) Duck Hunting

As a kid of the 80s reaching that video game age in the early 90s, the Nintendo was truly an early love and came into my home to provide hours of entertainment. One of the games included with this system was Duck Hunt, which many know by the orange plastic handgun used to hunt down the passing birds that appear on the screen. Well, now I find myself using those Duck Hunt skills as I set my D-Advocacy sights on the Lame Duck Congress and urge them to vote on diabetes-focused legislation.…

As I wait and continue to learn

I have discovered a lot with my dex. I have learned in the short time I've been on it as listed:
1) first week the info was right on target +/- with my meter
2) the 2nd week was funky but it settled itself out
3) I got the infamous ??? and had to call dex for a new sensor and to get the green light to change it.
4) I changed new sensor and was fine until this morning 11/29/10 where I got the ???. I was beginning to get frustrated but once I was about to have…

Hypoglycemic Unawareness

Lately I've apparently been suffering from hypoglycemic unawareness. When I was a kid, I definitely suffered from it, and there came a time when I didn't anymore. It wasn't apparent, but all of a sudden there was a realization that I would feel low, I would test, be low, and… Continue

Ask the Well Done Chef! Oiling Parchment Paper?

Gerri writes:
I have recipes that call for oiling both sides of parchment paper. Food doesn't stick to parchment paper, so why grease it? Is it to keep the paper flat? Thanks.

I have posted a video answer to Gerri's question over at my blog:
