It's about TIME

Cheers

I had my 3 month check-up and I am so pleased that my A1C has gone from 7.1% to 5.8%. My Triglycerides have improved ENORMOUSLY. I am so thrilled. I got a Onetouch Ultrasmart glucose meter and I am learning how to use it. I know it has been out for some time but it is new to me. I have been having fun playing with all the graphs.LOL

Well, I…

Couch Potatoes and Twinkies

I've just finished with day 5 of NaNoWriMo and it's getting intense. This post is a bit controversial, I will warn you ahead of time.

NaNoMoFaAsMo

With November apparently being the month of acronyms and resolutions, I hearby declare my November

NATIONAL NO MORE FAT ARSE MONTH

It's been 1 year and 20 pounds since I was diagnosed with diabetes. Ok, 30 pounds. Which is as big as a CHILD. Like a fully functional, talking, walking child. This must go. It's time to abandon this freeloader of an unwanted kid. And I'm leaving it at the gym.

If all goes according to plan, I will be starting on my pump on Wednesday. That's…

Halloween - not scary!

Well we made it through our first Halloween with diabetes. My husband and I were concerned that Olivia would want to eat any candy that she came in contact with, but she was really good at understanding that she couldn't have a piece of candy until mommy and daddy said it was okay to do so. Don't worry, we made it a point not to let our girls go overboard with getting candy. Every year we go to my in laws and we walk the block around their house and we end up going to about a dozen houses.…

I need support!!!

I am so glad I found this site. I am 38 and have been diabetic 21 years and my 8 year old daughter was diagnosed 4 years ago. I was on the pump during my pregnancy, but hated it! I am seriously considering getting back on one to help better control my blood sugars, but most of all to show my daughter how much easier it is. I am a single parent, so ANY advice on being a parent with diabetes, as well as a parent of a child with diabetes would be very much appreciated. I look forward to hearing…

My Worries

Lately I have been more and more worried about my younger sister. She was diagnosed with type 1 at age 10 and is not almost 20. She rearely checks and her A1C is around 9.5. I know there are no magic words that I can say to her to make her take care of herself, and it breaks my heart.

Big Dreams Gone...Just Gone

Every person that gets diabetes has dreams, some of them get crushed on. I've found ways to reach many of my dreams but there is one dream that will never be.

Big Dreams Gone...Just Gone

This is my writing for the 4th day of NaNoWriMo.

Wins and Losses in the Battles of Diabetes

I've just finished with day three of NaNoWriMo. Today's writing

proved to be harder than the last 2 days. I thought after having

diabetes I would have 50,000 words to write about it...after today I'm

not so sure...things are starting to get muddled in my head and digging

up all that I buried is proving to be a painful experience, hence why

it was buried in the first place...…

Exam Fever!

Well, my finals are rolling around and the semester has passed by too quickly. I'm in the midst of catching up on a stack of backlogged readings at the moment and wondering how on earth I'm going to rescue my "spectacular" GPA.

I'm pretty wary of exam periods now because I was diagnosed right after my exams ended last semester. The extreme stress levels I faced had apparently helped to push my blood sugar through the roof, and since I already had an infection at the time,… Continue

#2

I was watching Inside the Actor's Studio w/ Halle Berry the other day. I should probably say up front that the woman has irked me for quite some time and for no apparent reason. That being divulged, I was really confused by the segment on her diabetes. Here's how it went (paraphrasing):

James Lipton: And what kind [of diabetes] do you have?

Halle Berry: Well, it's classified as Type 1, but since I control it now with only diet and exercise, I like to say I'm Type…

hunger

Hello, I got another question again... And I thank those people who give comments on my blogs, I appreciate it so much... Honestly, I am really learning from this site and thankful to people who are kind enough to share what they know.

My question is... Why is it that after eating, I still feel hungry? And what will I do if that will happen?

Tonight, I experienced that "hunger-feeling" and brings me on panic attack (i was thinking about different things... I might have this and…
