...Batman's t-ball game last night. A lot of the kids know each other from various daycares, summer camps, swimming lessons, soccer, ect. Batman has two friends Ms. Blondie and Mr. Pollie. It's pretty much widely known throughout the daycare that Batman and… Continue

Schmoozing, Eating and More Diabetic Students

A week or so ago Mrs. SuFu, Squirt and I had to attend the annual awards banquet for medical students who received scholarships for the coming year. It was pretty good, I was able to chat with a lot of now 4th year medical students who I took gross anatomy with. It was nice, I… Continue

Great Day to End a Great Week

Click over to my blog for the full text.

This was a fun week. I didn't go to the gym once, I didn't do anything exciting but everything was out of the ordinary. Diabetes continues to be mind numbing and monotonous, but 95% of the time my numbers are awesome. We figured out on where we are living. I bought new tires for my car with money saved up from the clinical… Continue

Housing, Beds and Grills

After looking at all the dumps we could afford we decided to just stay where we are. Batman and Squirt will have to share a room, but he is excited about that. It's going to be cramped and we're going to start a major cleaning session come next week to try and get rid of all the crap we really don't need.

On a side…

BEST...NIGHT...EVER!!!!

Click over to my blog for the full text.

I coached Batman's first t-ball game last night. Only one phrase can describe last night... BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!! I can't remember when I've had as much fun in 100 degree heat. We were all soaked, tired and red faced by it, but we had fun. Every hit was a sprint from all 9 players to the ball. You've never seen anything funnier than 9… Continue

Really? You're a hospital... really?

Click over to my blog for the full text.

Another one of the joys of living in a small midwestern town is trying to eat with food allergies. It's getting better at restaurants, some even will make you gluten free meals, the pot roast with roasted red potatoes and steamed vegetables is delicious, but I digress. When you have to stay in hospital you would expect them to understand food allergies, I mean it's only a health care facility. Well at this one, not so much. Squirt's… Continue

MIA

Sorry all. There haven't been many posts lately. I've been super busy with trying to get everything done for graduation, reorganizing our 800 sq ft 2 bedroom to fit 4 people, travelling to the clinical trial site, umpiring baseball and trying to find time to spend with Squirt. Batman (my son… Continue

How do you measure the work of volunteers?

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
