Absence Excuse

Check out my blog for the full text.

So I've been a little more than absent lately. It's been a helluva week. I've been dealing with toxicity from Combivir and they are not minor. If you area doctor and prescribe this to someone who doesn't need it, you are an a-hole. The fatigue is horrible, I've fallen asleep eating breakfast twice. The mornings are by far the worst and I don't… Continue

Good Luck Sam!

Wanted to wish Sam good luck tomorrow! She is starting the dosing regimen for DEFEND-2. It's a long haul, hoping that you get the drug, dealing with the appointments and trying to be normal, but in the end it will be worth it. If you didn't catch… Continue

A1C and Pump Infusion Insulin Differences

Click over to my blog for the full text and graph.

I've posted a couple times before about my A1C levels so far. Graph taken from TuAnalyze on TuDiabetes. On the clinical trial we have our A1C checked on a monthly basis, rather than the standard 3-4 month span. I'd say I'm doing pretty well. This next month will be brutal because...

Insulin Pump Day 2 - HUNGRY!

Click over to my blog for the full text and graph of daily BG.

So today was better. The only spike was an after meal thing. The only thing is that it looks very similar to the peak from yesterday. I'm going to add to my basal rate to hopefully knock that down. I also dropped my I:C ratio to...

Click over to my blog for the full text and advertisement I am describing.

"I know it's convenient to be able to use your meter for boluses as well, but doesn't this seem a little dangerous? Also why would you need to be 10 ft away from your pump and still be bolusing? I would worry about..."

Cleaning up the blog

The full-text of this post is also on my blog.

My apologies to the people on TuDiabetes for linking to a prior blog post that had language less than fitting for a link-distributed post. I received an email from an admin requesting that I clean up the post because of its language and a resultant violation of terms of use. One of the things that I forget is that the majority of… Continue
