Thursday's Prompt:

"Having a positive attitude is important . . . but let’s face it, diabetes isn’t all sunshine and roses (or glitter and unicorns, for that matter). So today let’s vent by listing ten things about diabetes that we hate. Make them funny, make them sarcastic, make them serious, make them anything you want them to be!!"

All right...10 things I hate about Diabetes

All the Things I Hate About Diabetes

1. Guilt - Every time I stray just a little and try to be a normal human being, I have this immense feeling of guilt that I'm dooming myself. 2. Lows - I. Hate. Lows. They make me feel horrible, I can't talk right, and I get so confused and disoriented. And then I… Continue

Training to build an Ark

Nothing like the dawn chorus to wake you up fill you with peaceful feeling of being near to nature, just listening clears your mind and you feel and look at the World with eyes wide open, there are times when we can connect with nature in ways I guess we use to long before the rat race started when we humans were a young species staring in wonderment one moment being scarred senseless the next by beasts we can only imagine today,we looked up at the night sky the Moon and stars what thoughts ran… Continue

Some Days...

I really hate having this disease... I think, mostly, I hate it because somehow, people feel that once you have Diabetes (or some other disease they deem you got from your own "failed choices") that it gives them license to comment on your life or on how you came to be in your current state of affairs, and what you ought to do.

It makes me be angry a lot. It makes me hate people.

Some days, it is easier to get online, than others.

Some days, not so… Continue

What's the worst thing about having diabetes?

I ran a post last week asking if you could name 1 positive thing diabetes has given you. More than 50 people wrote in, many said new friends, this great site tudiabetes, they lost weight and got more healthy. Now, I'd like to turn this question on its head and ask, "What's the worst thing about having diabetes?" When I ask myself I realize my first feeling is just an overwhelming sense of "Oy...and… Continue

(Non-D-related) When you take off our skin, we're all the same underneath!

Two days ago I was walking through the hallway in my building and these two young women, probably both around 20 years old, were yelling at each other. One young woman was African American, the other was Indian.

"I don't like you! I don't like you!" one of them was saying.

The other said, "That's fine. I don't like you."

The first responded, "Listen, I don't like you. I DO NOT have to respect…
