Good morning!!
So, I'm looking into the possibility of getting a CGM. I don't mind giving myself injections, but I would like to be able to have something alert me when I'm going too low or too high. I was recommended the Dexcom 7 or the Navigator. I am *totally* new to any type of diabetic equipment - let alone the disease. ;-) I was use to seeing my mom test and give herself shots, so I was ok with doing that when I was diagnosed with T1. However, now that I have a toddler and we…

ACK! So I totally forgot to post when I got my bracelet. I got it about a week or so ago, and it looks great!! Totally happy with it. However, as I go along in my week - I realized that I should have gotten a "sporty" one as well. I play slow pitch on sunday nights and as I'm doing chores, etc I feel like i'm going to tarnish, scratch or whatever to the bracelet. I know it's made to handle that kind of stuff... but still. I don't like playing with jewelry on anyway - so if it's in a cloth type…

Hi guys,
So about a month ago I told myself that I would drink *at least* 4 cups of water a day. I was doing really good for about a week... then I don't know what happend.... we might have ran low on water at home... don't know... but I fell off the water train.
Alright, so what am I going to do now? Get back on it! I put my water bottle in the freezer tonight, so I got a nice and cold fresh bottle of water in the morning.
I felt so much better when I was drinking all the…

Hey there!
I'm looking into getting a medical ID bracelet. Is there anything that you guys suggest that I should put on my ID? Such as: Name, Type 1 Diabetes, Meds, Phone number to call, etc?
I wanted to get one for my birthday.. but that's already passed, and I don't want to wait much longer and go without having some kind of alert charm on me.
Trying not to go for the "whoah you have a problem - at all times" bracelet, but one that says "somethings wrong with her…

Found a food/snack I can cross off my list...well maybe not cross off, but definitely limit my consumption of - Big League Chew Bubble Gum! Go Figure! One of my favorite gums. Apparently, this was the first time having some since I've been diagnosed. So the pack says "8 strands = 2 carbs"... 8 strands is not enough to consider it bubble gum... more like tooth-hole fillers. ;o) HA! Anyways... I'll be watching my consumption/chewing of the Big League unless it's added into my meal carb…

Woohoo! On day 3 of drinking 4 or more glasses of water a day! :-) Go me. ;o)
So, as a result of drinking more glasses of water - less dried lips!! Hooray! Feeling better and more hydrated! woot!
That's all for now...more later!
Thanks for listenin'!

Alrighty... for those who know me and don't - I don't drink enough water and I am a lip picker too... so when I don't drink enough water, my lips become chapped... and when that happens I bite/pick my lip. Sounds gross, but hey - that's why they call them bad habits. ;-) So, my goal for May is to drink *at least* 4 cups a day. I know that doesn't sound like much... but I gotta start somewhere. I know that if I can consistently drink 4 glasses a day... that 1) it's better than what I'm currently…

Just another beautiful day in Sunny Southern CA. :-)
So, we got 2 bikes yesterday! Nothing to impressive... they have wheels, breaks, pedals, and gears. Which is good enough for me. :-) I am really excited to get out and exercise with my hubby and little boy. We are on the hunt for a good priced and good quality trailer/carrier for our little guy.
I haven't biked in a *long* time... Well, not since I've been prego and dx with T1. So, I'm going to see how my bloodsugar levels respond…

Alrighty my first blog post! woot! :-) My Story:
I started to notice feeling the lows when I was a freshman in high school. My mom was recently dx as T2, so we thought it would be good to test when I didn't feel "right" - low 60's-70's. What we did was just go off of how I felt and I knew when I was playing softball that I needed to snack on something around the 5th inning or so. Going through high school and college being an athlete was tough. The coaches didn't understand after trying to…
