Thanksgiving Prep

It’s Thankgiving week. This used to be one of my favorite holidays because it was the one time out of the entire year where you could eat whatever your heart desired and no one said a thing. That was until I became diabetic. Now, during this old favorite holiday people comment on how much I’m eating or give me a look. Have You Heard of Symlin?

I am hearing a lot about this new drug for diabetics called Symlin. I first heard about it from one of my diabuddies, but wasn’t sure of how I felt about it right away. Then we had another group meeting and another diabetic is now going to go on Symlin. I decided to look more into it. Apparently, this new drug helps you to gain better control of your glucose levels and also helps the promotion of weight loss....…

Caffeine Impairs Insulin?!

I just found out that caffeine affect our blood sugars. I was really sad about this, and am now curious if I need to reduce my caffeine intake...YIKES!

Diabetes Challenge: Day 3

Day 3 was not my worst day, but it also wasn't my best. I am starting to see a trend with my number, I will definitely need to do some basal testing next week.

Day One of my Diabetes Challenge

Well day one came and went quickly. On the bright side, I stayed accountable by constantly checking my blood sugars and logging my information. It wasn't a perfect day, but hey, today is another day right?

One Week Challenge

I am going to do a one week challenge of being an almost perfect diabetic. I will share my logs with you and do all things I should do as a diabetic. Each day I will share my daily totals with you and we will see if I can manage sticking to this for one entire week!
