Starting Anew

Time for a new post...

I've been on the pump for a month now. It's had its ups and downs (pun intended), for a while I wasn't sure if it was the right decision, I was scared, elated, frustrated and hopeful for the first week, then routine started to kick in and I started seeing the pump more objectively.

Coming to terms

Here is the thing... i think I'm being a chicken shit

I was (sort of still am) very excited about going on the pump. I received in on the mail, got my pre-training form the Animas rep and now I have been waiting for a month to "get hooked" by my medical team.

Is not that I don't want to, I am actually looking forward to it, but I feel like this is my time to be BAD, have a break before the storm, not test often enough or care that my sugars are back up... I've fallen off the…

The Sushi Experiment

Today we went for "all you can eat" sushi and it was a success!

Of course I didn't eat all I could eat, but i left full and satisfied and positive that I had done a good job carb counting. So I want to blog what I ate, in case any of you, other sushi lovers, care to try.

Test before meal: 6.5

Test 1.5h after meal 4.4

Sushi rolls (crispy, avocado-sweet potato, salmon, unagi)

9 pieces x 10g carbs = 90g carbs

OK, so apparently you can blog on this site.
