My Porky Pig Fingers are taking a rest ...

Have any of you ever found that your fingers get so tired of being poked by the vampire sucking machine we use multiple times a day? Well, it's not helped lately that I have my arms immersed in soil - since we're renovating our front garden. Our clay soil makes for a lovely "facial" of the fingertips - fine if you have oily skin ... on the face ... but on the hands - well - all the moisture is sucked right out of them.

Taking care of my pearly whites (aka George Hamilton)

Well, it was my regular 8 month clean up for my teeth yesterday and as usual I was told to floss my teeth more often and massage my gums (Oh Calgon take me away). Of course, I did the flossing the night before - but that's a lame excuse - it should be done daily. A bent cannula does wonders for infusing insulin .... NOT

Even though I've had diabetes for so long - I still feel like I am learning new ways of handling my diabetes at times. Especially since going onto the insulin pump. For example, on the weekend I experienced an interesting scare of high blood sugars - only for a period of 8 hours mind you - but it wasn't something that I'm used to - as I tend to keep my blood sugars pretty stable with or without an insulin pump.
