Diabetes Awareness Week, July 19-26, 2009.

I was invited to judge an contest for Johnson and Johnson, as one of their contributing activities for the 17th Diabetes Awareness Week Celebration ( July 19-26, 2009) held in SM Mall of Asia, July 19, 2009. The contest was entitled "Word in Hand" This being an original concept of DHF, Johnson and Johnson Philippines, contacted DHF for permission to use "Word in Hand" for their activities. A birthday, a funeral...rebirth.

Just as I promised Manny, I am now officially going back online at TUD. I have not been my old self lately, having been hospitalised and diagnosed with more ailments. Long story short, weeks of soul searching did the trick. All I need was to regain my confidence in facing my health's challenges. Brooding would do nothing for me. Also, I would need to remember that the TuDiabetes community would be there beside me, just as it has always been. I just cannot stand here while others remain lonely, d… Continue

Another Challenge...Gastriris.

Three days after my upland Vacation in Baguio City, my stomach suddenly went uneasy. Rather quickly, I get very feverish, and body malaise sets in. I am in CONSIDERABLE pain...

Just about an hour ago, I paid my dentist a visit, as my wisdom tooth was already giving me such trouble. Can anyone say, "minor surgery"? Good thing my blood pressure, and most importantly, my glucose levels cooperated, (I hit 112 before my visit). Long story short, the tooth finally came out, after much screams and "bloodshed" (ha ha!). Even my spit has blood. Ouch, but I should be fine in a couple of days.... Continue

Thoughts From A Diabetic's Heart.

It's been four months now that I have been living with this disease. I have finally accepted the fact that, though diabetes is incurable for now, I can live with it. I have reconciled it in my heart that I would need to purchase medications until the day I die; learn to eat in moderation (or else...);, and be more watchful over my health altogether. Friends and family with be there to lend a hand, but what keeps me in one piece is faith, and this I saw in one of my basic necessiti… Continue
