Dear Everyone

Dear everyone, and I put to everyone because I think everyone has felt like this!

I try not to be self centres about my diabetes: there are worse things to have right? But recently my weight has really been getting me down. Sounds like such a simple thing right? Just get some exercise and eat better I head you cry!

Juggling university, working 2-3 days a week, flat upkeep and looking after (not all the time i mean) a bipolar boyfriend (he's not sick just now but his mood… Continue

Please Help!

Hey Guys, I was wondeirng if you could possibly healp me...I've been a type one diabetic for over ten years now, and although my control isn't fantastic, it's usually kept vaguely on track. But recently, my sugar levels have been screaming high, no matter how much insulin I do, but then I occasionally crash and go hypo. My levels are particularlyt high in the mornings, even if they've been okay before bed. It's really getting to me, and I can't see a doctor until June. Does anyone know why this… Continue

A little trip to the clinic...

Here's an interesting story for you if you're....interested.

So a couple of months back I was living in a situation, where I was fed a high sugar diet and had little control over it;think host family who were determinded to kill me through cake and caramelized carrots...

I was doing a ton of insulin, but not checking my levels, because I'm a *bad* diabetic.

So when I arrived home again, I was testing every hour or two, doing a lot of insulin, and basically despatately trying to… Continue

Why why why do I do it to myself?

Why I ask, do I insist on eating too much sugar? I didn't NEED those sweets, but my levels went a little low and I ended up eating too many. My levels are now high.

WHY?

Am I the only person who does this?! I went over to my boyfriends house today and I always just end up eating more there. It really bothers me. No amount of insulin seems to be able to cope with the ridiculous amount of sugar I ate.

Yes I'm angry at myself. I don't know why I don't just listen to those voices in… Continue

ARRRRRGGHHH!

I need to vent. I don't care if I'm just venting it to the empty internet, I am beyond frustrated.

I didn;t control my diabetes fr months. I ignored it, pretended it wasn;t there. Stuck the jab in, shot some insulin in and that was it. Needless to say I was very sick. But NOW when I am making gargantuan efforts to be healthy, I find my levels screaming up high and then dropping low. My insulin sometimes takes forever to work. I run up and down the stairs countless times,… Continue
