Let’s end our week on a high note and blog about our “Diabetes Hero”.  It can be anyone you’d like to recognize or admire, someone you know personally or not, someone with diabetes or maybe a Type 3.  It might be a fabulous endo or CDE.  It could be a d-celebrity or role-model.  It could be another DOC member.  It’s up to you – who is your Diabetes Hero??

I'm lucky, I have two diabetes heroes. My children. They are the reason I try my hardest to stay healthy and the reason I dig down deep to keep going when things get really tough. They have been so sweet and thoughtful at every turn with anything related the my diabetes. They participated in a JDRF walk with me and were so excited you would have thought I told them we were going to Sesame Place. They are always understanding when plans get diverted because of my diabetes. They are tender, aware and in tune. I am just in awe of them and couldn't ask for more.

Thank you all for commenting and sharing your thoughts on this topic. Last week was the first time in a long time that I've written about diabetes. It felt good to read and write about the same topics as others. I learn so much from all of you.
