One question, has anyone else found it basically impossible to get pregnant?

Hey there - I know of some women with diabetes who have also had fertility issues. I don't think there's any data supporting a connection but it does happen, just as with non-d folks. I think it's especially tough with d, though, because you work so hard to maintain that pre-conception excellence and that gets really tough after a while! Have you visited diabeticmommy.com? I think that's the largest publicly accessible group of women with diabetes - you might try a post there. Good luck!

Have you ever been tested for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)? It's linked with diabetes and can lead to fertility problems because it inhibits ovulation.

Hi again Merietta, Yes I found it nearly impossible to get pregnant but as you can see by my picture I was blessed with twins. I was blessed that is with an awesome endo/fertility specialist in Bakersfield. I am not the one with DM but my daughter is. With that said, this may be something that is not at all related to your DM. I underwent fertility treatments and had many tests ran. One thing that many doctors do not do is have proper lab work done. Have you ever had tests ran for antibodies? This may or may not have to do with "getting" pregnant but "staying" pregnant. Many people that have miscarriages have then from these antibodies which attack the fetus. With heparin shots, a baby aspirin, progesterone and other stuff many times the miscarriages can be avoided. Before I continue to rattle on, just let me know if you are interested. Thanks, Leah
