TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Well ever since I was diagnosed with Type II, I have always been in control of the products I use. I always checked with my insurance to determine the best course of action. Now my supplies are provided free to me by my employer and administrated by the insurance company. So recently when I re-ordered my supplies, I was notified they sent me new lancets because the insurance company does not provide for the Freestyle ones any more. They support the strips but not the lancets. I like having everything set the same. Lancets, lancing device, meter etc. They told me the new lancets are thinner and more comfortable. Comfortable? I never got used to hearing that word used for sticking your fingers to check your blood sugar. Anyway, just a small rant. Was wondering what others have run into and have they had to make drastic changes when this happens. I also am hoping that the insurance company continues to cover my meter and strips. I use the Freestyle Flash and being a computer geek, I like to download and run reports. It helps me to connect what I go through on a day to day basis.
