I'm actually an "Anderson", but the well known pharase surely fits me right now :P Between work life, home life, & diabetes management which we all know entails exercise & good food choices - life is feeling a bit Go-Go-Go :)

The hubby has the mentality that he'll slow down when he is dead *LOL* We keep busy with festivals, road trip, kids a visiting, yada - yada. This weekend is the MN State Fair, next weekend is Labor Day activities, & the months continue on. I enjoy exploring the culture around us, & hanging with friends; however, taking time to actually smell the roses around us sounds very inviting. Hubby & I also discussed how society in the United States is always bustling & other areas like Europe seem to take in their surroundings more. I dreamt about living in Spain & think it would be oh so neat. Maybe then I would focus more on healing me?

Oh boy, I am rambling now.

I am healthy & in good spirits. Although, I also know that I have stuff from childhood to deal with that leads to actually feeling my feelings & not reaching out for the no-nos (chocoloate, etc.). Honestly, I have it down to a science on how much I am allowed & I don't over do it, but it all affects ya. Overall, my food intake is pretty good. Of course, there is always better & best which I believe would help assist me in being more focused than scattered here & there. Then again, my job is choas & I continually multi-task ...

Last weekend I had traveled west & north to Minto, ND to visit family. My aunt gave me a book to read from Prevention magazine about balancing sugars. Here's my goal - to read the book in a couple weeks and hopefully apply some of the recommendations.

Positve Thinking!

i was always told that you slow down with age. i'm almost 52 and for some reason things just seem to be going faster and faster. wait,,,maybe i am slowing down but everything seems to be going faster because my brain and body can't keep up with it. oh no!!!! i have a quiet night tonight, everyone is off doing other things, so-o-o-o maybe i can catch up. nah, never happen. i think i would be lost if i were to catch up. total shock to the system. overload, overload. i feel a "lost in space" moment here where the robot swings his arms and says "danger will robonson, danger". ok, that was not for you youngsters who never watched "lost in space". i think i just dated myself there. oh wow. dated!!! i haven't had a date in years. at least it was with someone i liked. sorry folks, just having one of those nights. i'm going to see the guys with the straight jackets any minute now.
back to the subject.
life will always be crazy,no matter where you go. for me i have to prioritize. that's the hardest thing i have ever had to do. what is most important to me, and my health has to be at the top of the list. it has always been at the bottom of the list before. i hear you on the scattered part. my husband use to be able to keep up with me as far as conversations went, then he just gave up. i would start out on one subject and end on something else entirely with a couple of stops on other things in between. don't ask me about house cleaning. i'm just glad i have a small house. i start out in one room and end up going from room to room. if i could just start in one room and finish it before going to the next what a beautiful thing that would be. so setting up a schedule or pattern for my diabetes has been interesting to say the least. and everything interferes, from kids to emergencies. i don't think i will ever get it right.
positive thinking is a must. not, i'm positive i'm going to fail either, but i'm positive i'm going to win.
it's nice to meet a fellow rambler, i thought i was the only one out here who rambles. we'll have to start a fellow rambler's club. no better not, who knows where we would ramble to.
