Am I dreaming: Insurance company being nice?

Recently, without warning, I started receiving only one vial of Novolog insulin instead of the two I've gotten for the past few years, which isn't enough since I take about 300 units a week through my pump. After going through the typical insurance meshugas and calling my doctor to get a new prescription, I picked up my insulin this afternoon. Once I left the pharmacy I noticed the paper bag my medication was in was bulkier than usual. I burst into laughter when I opened the bag to see it was practically overflowing with insulin. My eyes even watered. The pharmacy had given me eight, yes eight, vials (8000 units!!!). Never have I held that much insulin at one time. I felt like I had opened a treasure trove. This is what diabetes dreams are made of.

Wow! I wish my insurance company was as nice as that. Before I got the pump I would have to call and BEG for the to pay not just for the insulin buy the syringes and well. Congrats!

I mean for strips. For the record, I've never had to strip for diabetic supplies. Yet.

Wow...you hit the jackpot! That rocks. And I was thrilled when I got two new (Free) glucometers, though they should give those to us for free considering how much we pay in strips!

LOL
Sometimes you have to wonder about insurance companies. I do 7 shots a day so one box of syringes just doesn't cut it for me, plus I use 5 vials of symlin a week. It took me 3 months to convince mine i needed 300 syringes a month as well as 5 vials of the symlin, but they finally got the point
