Learning About Diabetes, Inc., has introduced My New Shadow, an innovative monthly serial comic book about a teenager with type 1 diabetes, as a new, free program on its' web site.  The first section is already up, and was written by a teen with diabetes.

Did you read "choose your own adventure" (aka "pick-a-path") books as a kid?  I wasn't a big reader as a kid, but I loved these books.  They were always adventure stories and at the end of each chapter you were given several choices about what should happen next, and each choice had a different section to turn to in the book.  This way you could read the book over and over again, and if you chose different "paths" each time the story would be different.  I thought these things were tremendous fun.

This new comic book is a little like that!  It's being written bit by bit, and at the end of an installment readers are asked what should happen next.  The next installment will reflect the suggestions readers made.  I think it's a fantastic idea!
