Every body has he's story about Diabetes and I wanna share my story with you guys..

Sorry for my bad English,
I live in belgium so i can't speak english, but i try (':

Nicholas Jonas is the one that gives me strenght he's a great rolemodel
He don't know that I exist but yet, while everybody shakes my hand, he hold it.

A few weeks before I was diagnosed
I was really skinny,
My mom thought i wanna lose weight
and she was so angry
every night i was crying my self asleep..

( Here is a Picture when i was 12 before they found out I was a diabetic )

I was ashamed,
I was 12 and I wet my bed..

School was hard,
everybody was playing and I couldn't
i was tired, i was all the time thinking about a glas wather

and then one day when we had gym on school went something wrong..
i was so scared
cuz i was fainted

when i woked up i was already in the hospital
all the faces on me..

Mom was crying dad looked sad.
and I was in that bed.
I was really scared
cause I thought maybe i was going to die.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on 25/04/2007
I was little and even don't new about diabetes.

when all of my friends were at school and having fun
I was in the hospital learning about a disease.

My blood sugar was over 780..

it was a tuff weak
but the nurses helped me verry well
there are nice poeple !

when I was released from hospital
was i so glad =D
i had the whole day a big smile on my face ^^

but the day after that
i had my first comunnie

and the pictures are well
but i looked so skinny..

My friends and Family are great.

it the begin was everything fine
it was new

but now it's a never ending fight with yourself
and I asked my mom when its gonna stop
all those shots
all the pain,

its not as easy as keeping a diet.
it hurts.
its difficult.
its a lifestyle that u have to learn to get used to.

Diabetes is a complex condition,
For at the end of the day, no one can better understand the challenges we face and deal with,
better than those of us who share this condition,
having a faulty pancreas.

I believe the experiences we have and share make us stronger, provide us with a 'knowing' about life that few others have.
Our bodies aren't broken, they're different, that's all.
Physical life is about managing various physical challenges and that applies to all human beings.

no matter how much your family and friends love and support you,
they can never really know what it is to deal with the conditions that occur with diabetes,
if they themselves don't have to deal with it on a personal, physical level.
But it is always good to have non-diabetics,
who love you and support you and want to help you.

-Ken has told me this beautiful sentences.
And it's so true.-

Now I am 14 years old,
everything goes well, I go to diabetes camp
I have my friends there
We laugh with all these "hard" things we have to do
all these painful conditions
but it is okay you know
it is good that they are there for me,
the people who really understands me

most importantly it's reassuring to know you're not in it alone..

-have faith-

And guys together we can win this fight !
im there for you..

.

Good luck to you all !
Lots of love, Lise

Oh Lise...No matter how different our languages maybe...You will always be heard and understood so clearly by our hearts. Thank you for sharing your story. You are a beautiful young woman. The obstacles of your past can become the gateways that lead to new beginnings and much more wonderful experiences.

Oh Lise, your message comes through perfectly as it had me in tears. Your words reveal a wisdom and grace many people fail to master in a lifetime...it is so hard to gain that wisdom the painful way at such a young age. I am in awe...
Wisdom, grace and beauty in one package, lookout world here she comes!!!

Lise, I'm truly touched that you liked the three paragraphs I sent you enough to use them here. You are truly a special and brave young lady. As I mentioned before, take heart for there is strength in our numbers here, you are among kindred. All the best to you now and forever...
P.S. Your English is still a lot better than my Dutch!

Hi Lise your english is beautiful, and so are you. As human beings it is the messages we send that serve us to help fellow human beings. You picked the right place and welcome to a community of people who are not only aware, because we have it we understand.

You may be interested in some things I have written on Oprah's web site in the Diabetes Support Board entitled Diabetes The Real Cost. You can get there by going to www.oprah.com/community/community/health/diabetes

If there is ANYTHING you think we may be able to help you with then please ask. In the mean time stay well, discuss your concerns and talk about how you are doing mentally as well as physically. We are here to help!!!

Love Always
The Anonymous diabetic.
