LADA is T1 and that those who are diagnosed with LADA early may not need insulin for years.

I have (for better or worse) gotten to work with lawyers a lot the past few years, including being on the stand in courtroom and questioned at depositions, and there is a questioning style that is not uncommon. Even if the lawyer knows the answer, he still has to ask the question, because they need the witness to say it out loud.
Similarly the health screener/health assistant phone calls generally go the same way. It's not that the person on the phone is stupid, just that they need to get it as an answer (not as an assumption). Making too many assumptions in health care could be even worse than making too many assumptions as a lawyer.
