TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Hello all,

I am back on here so I can vent to someone who might understand. Last night around 9:30 i checked my sugar it was about 128. So I had my snack and took my meds. I went to sleep about 10:30. At 1 am I woke up for some reason and decided to check my sugar it was at 90. So I went to the kitchen grabbed a glass of OJ and a granola bar then went back to sleep. At around 4 am I woke up again, checked again and it was 136. So I went back to sleep. At 630 my mom called me to get up, I checked yet again and my sugar was at 83. It is just so frustrating to me that I keep getting up and dont get enough sleep, so i am a bit cranky the rest of the day. Well thanks for listening!

i hear you. although it's never my sugar that keeps me awake. i have leg and hip problems and on some nights my knees ache so bad that i might as well get back up. they told me i have sleep apnea but even the machine doesn't help when it's the things like legs, and knees and hips that are keeping me awake. the machine is going back. hang in there, you aren't alone.

My son managed to pass strep throat to me, speculating but will check with doc on Monday. My reading are weird when I a am sick. But I can relate to your night. I was at my brothers so I did not have my food that keeps me going through the night. So I went to bed at 9 or so with nothing to eat. Woke up at 11 pm with the shakes and that funky feeling, check the blood sugar was around 80 or so. Got a snack and then I was worried about the reading so I could not sleep. Finally fell asleep, woke up at 4, reading normal, but was still thinking about bad reading so it took me a while to fall back to sleep. Woke up at 8:30 tired and out of it til after lunch. Had little lunch and on my drive back from my brothers had dinner, felt a little better then headed out for fireworks very tired. So I can feel your pain on the sleep, hope you get a good night sleep later. take care

Hey Annette,

I can relate! My dark circles have dark circles:) I have fantasies about being able to sleep for as long as I like.
