I just posted on my Tu blog that I passed my 30-year Type 1 anniversary last month (it went by without me noticing), and wasn't sure how to acknowledge it. I got some really interesting responses (you can click over to my page to read it). I still don't think it particularly calls for celebration, but I'll give you a pat on the back and say "good job". Until you reflect back on what it means in the long run, D is just another part of life's day-to-day routine. Hoping you're doing well, and looking forward to the day when medical science gives us the ability to celebrate our annual "diabetes-free" anniversaries!

I honestly don't know WHAT to do when my anniversary rolls around! I've decided, instead of ignoring it completely and acting like it doesn't exist, to at least acknowledge it and turn it into something possitive. Of course it doesn't help that my very German family decided to have a Cinco de Mayo party and COMPLETELY didn't remember. My bringing it up went something like this:
"Hey guys, guess what to day is? It's the day I was diagnosed with-"
"IT'S CINCO DE MAYO! Yaaaaaay!"
...Oh well.
