TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

I learned something new about TuDiabetes today ... I didn't realise you could add photos to TuDiabetes from your Flickr account. Way cool! So I added a few.

For World Diabetes day, I've turned my website blue and blogged a little about diabetes and the great support that's available online. The link is here.

I have other noteworthy news too. I've had a hole in my side that's been healing very slowly over the last 19 months, and it's now to the stage it can be surgically cleaned up and CLOSED - stitched up. No more twice a week trips to have the nurses at RDNS change my dressing. I can't imagine what I'll do with my time on Tuesdays and Fridays, but I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something. :-)

The surgery is set for Wed 26 November (the day before Thanksgiving), and will be just a day surgery. My GP and I have worked out a plan to keep me clear from infections between now and then, and a few weeks after, so I'm good to go.

This means I can GO SWIMMING again! Oh, man, I can hardly wait. There's a swim centre just at the edge of walking distance for me and I plan to make it a routine to go get some pool exercise in.

Well that's me, I just wanted to share World Diabetes Day with y'all and say G'day!

Cheers,
Gaelyne
