Have you been denied a job because you are Type 1?

Over 20 years ago, my husband wanted to be a city police officer and was denied because he had diabetes. My son who is also Type 1 said he may want to be a police officer or pilot. Any info. if this is a possibility? We do live in Canada. Thanks for the input.

I see you didn't get an answer to this....it turns out that there are T1 commercial airline pilots in Canada (but not in the US). In the US you can be a private pilot with T1, but can't get the medical certification for commercial pilot work.

Thanks for the links. I was told my son would not be able to be a commercial pilot from the pilot industry. How weird. He decided to pursue another career, but I'm glad things are changing for the better.
