Any Type 1 folks out there having problems with insulin resistance? I've been diabetic for 38 years, and in the last few months seen my insulin requirements rise substantially. Saw the endocrinologist today after a very scary week, unable to lower my blood sugars below 300, despite increasing both basal and bolus doses by more than 100%. Aside from all of the blood work and urinalysis, she started me on Metformin. Amazing....not sure how to handle the extreme lows, but much better than the alternative. Anyone have thoughts or ideas?
