Daunting & sobering, isn't it? My strip co-pay recently increaesd by $5.35 for 100 strips. No notice from the insurance company, just a surprise at register. Still, always grateful for coverage because no way I could afford full retail costs.

Don't know how those with pumps &/or CGMs afford supplies. Can only imagine what the true costs of those are.
No fan of the insurance industry, to put it mildly, but I can relate to why it's not easy to get pumps. The cost is staggering!

Ouch is what I say everytime we have to pay our Medicare bill each month. If it wasn't for insurance I wouldn't be here. I was dxed very young with the big D and I'm thankful that my Mom had insurance....learned early how important insurance is. I feel for those who do not have insurance because this is an expensive disease and very costly to stay alive.

I've never been a day of my life (now almost 33 years) without insurance, and I have the paperwork to prove it going back all the way. My mom also taught me the importance of documentation, and at times it's been a fight to get - but completely worth it, when the insurance is so necessary.

I guess that's why we've lived so long with D because it takes fortitude and battle stratigies to stay alive along with other things.
