I went to the doctor today. Good news is my A1C went down from 8.7 to 7.6. Bad news is I was diagnosed with Necrobiosis Lipoidica Diabetecorum (NLD). The doctor didn't seem too concerned, just told me to try some Cortaid ointment and work on getting my A1C down. Googling it was pretty scary and depressing. Apparently I'm one of the luck 3% or something of diabetics to get it, and most articles made it sound like I will undoubtedly end up with lesions and could possibly lose a leg. Super.
Well, my New Year's Resolution is to cut out the sweets. Can't hurt, right? I'm also getting regular acupuncture treatments to help with other complications like neuropathy, which has been effective so far. Gotta stay positive! Stupid Diabetes.
